Saturday mornings at Strawberry Hill Park are THE CUTEST! That's right. It's little league time! Baseball uniforms, gloves, bats. The works! It's so fun to watch them learn and practice and then play their little hearts out. While I was standing there, one of the kids asked me "do you know where third base is?"  I just forgot how that knowledge isn't innate because I've known it for so long. They are all fast learners though and before this season is over, they will be ball players!  This is my favorite little ball player in the league, Gage. He's five. (You might've guessed) And he's determined! Reminds me of my little grandsons playing in other states this summer.
And he has the cutest little face!

It's all in the wrist action - practice, practice, practice!

It works! Batter, batter, batter, batter . . . .
LSD_Gage_Baseball108.jpgFunny thing about little league: Sometimes you run into your cousin on first base. :)

He's off and running!

Heading for home plate!

Just another inning, right?

Gotta watch those cousins. They totally score runs.

LSD_Gage_Baseball115.jpgCheers and high fives all around . . .

LSD_Gage_Baseball116.jpgLSD_Gage_Baseball117.jpgSee ya next Saturday!

Time flies doesn't it? He's getting so big! Thanks for letting me hang out at your game, Gage!

I can't remember when I've laughed so much with little boys. They are so stinkin' funny! AS IF two boys won't keep you laughing enough, this little family has just added a third . . . Will. So Ethan and Caleb are big brothers now and I have no doubt they will show little Will the ropes. Ethan is the first born and of course very much in control of things, serious, contemplative, cautious -- all those first born things. Caleb . . . not so much! Full (and I mean FULL) of energy, ideas, jokes. He really keeps this family on its toes -- or heads -- or something! ALL THE TIME! So, now, there is Will. My guess is, he will balance it all out. We will have to wait a bit to see where he lands in the mix but wherever it is, he will always have his band of brothers to keep him company. They were totally in awe of him and so was I. Thanks for sharing all your boys with me . . . AGAIN. It was hilarious!

You all know the story of the cobbler (shoemaker) whose own children never had any shoes because he didn't have time to make any for his own kids? Well, that's kind of how it is around here. I take pictures of my own kids and grandkids and friends' kids, but it takes me forever to get them edited and blogged or printed. Some I don't see again for a LONG, LONG time. For instance, my grandson, Beaux, I took his first birthday pictures with a cake and all the hoopla but he was two last November and I've never printed or blogged his first birthday! What a shameful Nana! This past week was my granddaughter Tatum's 7th birthday. It was Spring Break and not all of her friends or family could come to her party because they were on vacay so we went on a a little vacay of our own to visit family in Ft. Worth. We went to the aquarium and did some inside things b/c of course it rained most of the time that week. We took Beaux tricycle. That was genius. :D  When we came home, we had our Sunday night family dinner on the patio and there were bubbles and she got an electric scooter and some other fun things and I think she had a fun time after all! I am posting a few pics from that week and a big kiss to my little Tatum!

My beautiful little Tatum on her 7th birthday! So darling to me! LSD-grandkids-002.jpgLSD-grandkids-003.jpg

In case you're wondering why I don't get much done these days, right here it is. These 3 are temporarily living with Nana & Papa and their mom of course and their two dogs - we can't leave them out can we? Nope. so we are all one big happy family for the time being and it's a lot of work but it is very fun and we are loving their time with us!

Taylor styled the posing for Tatum by the pool. She was excellent!LSD-grandkids-006.jpg

as a matter of fact, it's pretty fabulous! And the attention you get? Well, it's even better. Right, Michael? This family is the cutest! If you've followed this blog at all, you know I first met them when Jenn was expecting this little one, again when Michael was just a couple of weeks old, again when he was six months old and now . . . ta da . . . ONE! Gosh time flies! Teeny to toddling in the blink of an eye! Michael is so precious. Those big blues eyes just getting bluer every day and blond curls. Be still my heart.  Very sweet. Very curious. Walking, talking - a real person! This January was so different from last - snow storm to 60 degrees - that we got to go outside and play a little. Then Mom and Dad set his cake out for investigation and exploration. Just let him at it and then hose him off. It's the best way to celebrate being one! Happy Birthday Michael! Can't wait to meet your little sis soon!

I love when they finally realize I'm just kind of silly too and want to play!

I think he was a little sad it was over!

Thanks for sharing your darling little family with me again!

Sophia and I went to Seattle a while back (I'm ashamed to say how far back and I'm just now blogging these) - and while we were there, we stayed with long time friends, Carol and Rob Hille. We have been crashing with the Hlles for about 25 years now and many years ago, we nicknamed their house The Hilleton, since we used it as a free hotel so often! (Now we stay at the Hilleton PNW.) Well, it just so happened that their two darling daughters, Jessica and Stephanie, neither of whom live in the State of Washington, were in town too. We decided to do an impromptu photo sesh around Seattle. It was a bit cold and rainy (go figure) -- a little windy at times too but what the heck . . . it is Seattle after all! Home of God's softbox. :D We headed down to the sculpture park and played around.  It was awfully fun and hopefully will give them something to hang in their new Seattle home!

Just wanted to see if we could get Rob to be silly with us a little . . .LSD_Hille-107.jpgLSD_Hille-108.jpgLSD_Hille-109.jpgLSD_Hille-110.jpgLSD_Hille-111.jpg

Thank you all so much for the hospitality! Service at the Hilleton is THE BEST!
