Teachers amaze me. Teaching is a true gift. Their patience and dedication is astounding. I think most of us, if we're lucky, have a special teacher that comes to mind as being significant in our lives. I know I do. Mine happens to be Sister Emily and she taught me a lot more than math at Monte Cassino High School. She taught me to believe in myself and keep trying, even when I felt pretty stupid. . Abigail teaches English at Monte Cassino. My daughter Kate swears she is completely the BEST teacher ever and has taught her all she knows and appreciates about English and writing. I am grateful. She will be leaving there this spring, when she marries and relocates to San Fransisco with an equally amazing man, Stan. (You know what I want to say but I'm not going to say it, right?) Stan flew into Tulsa for their engagement session and he and Abigail hadn't seen each other in a few weeks. They'd missed each other so much. They just couldn't stay away from each other. It was great!  He is totally the teacher's pet!  Stan is the kind of guy you just like right away. Not your every day rocket scientist, and yet, he is one. I totally love it when intellectuals get together. I like to just listen to their conversations. It's fascinating. We started at Cain's Ballroom, which is where they will be having their rehearsal dinner. CAN'T WAIT for that!  We ended up at Stan's grandparents property in west Tulsa. He spent tons of time there throughout his life and it's so apparent how much he loves it - and his grandparents. His grandmother and Aunt Jane (who tagged along for some of our session getting pointers!) showed me the scrapbooks and photo albums of all the grandchildren taken there through the years. From when Stan was teeny! It was so cute. I could see immediately how much family and tradition meant to him and Abigail and it was so great that we could have a portion of their engagement session on this same property.  I'll bet their kids will also be photographed there one day! (I'm just sayin'. . .)

If you're gonna get caught in the rain, in the middle of a field, you really ought to have shoes on like this! LOVE IT!
